American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical Oncology position requiring OCN certification and a minimum of 2 years of experience, working night shifts at a hospital in Augusta, GA.

Details

• Medical Surgical Oncology unit in a hospital setting with 19 beds and an average daily census of 15
• Patient population includes adults through geriatrics with oncology and hematology diagnoses ranging from diagnosis through end-of-life care
• Clinical focus includes oncologic emergencies, DNR/CC, chemo precautions, morphine drips, dilaudid drips, CADD pumps, and PCA pumps
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
• EMR: Epic (required); also uses Pyxis and SBAR
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:00
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within the facility and possibly to a satellite campus approximately 3 miles from the main campus
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS and OCN certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Proficiency with Epic EMR required
• Copies of all required certifications must be provided for consideration
• Two supervisory references (manager level or above; charge nurse references not accepted) are highly preferred for consideration

• Navy blue scrubs required
• RTO maximum of 7 days for the assignment; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
• Holiday coverage policy: travelers are expected to work all major holidays that fall within their assignment period if one or two occur; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work two of them
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday (counted as one), Christmas Eve/Christmas Day (counted as one), and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day (counted as one)
• No schedule change requests or alternate shifts are permitted; the posted night shift is firm
• Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for a minimum of one full year before returning as a traveler
• No special scheduling requests, including travel pairs on the same shift and unit, are permitted
