American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical Oncology position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience, BLS and OCN certifications, and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Hospital-based Medical Surgical Oncology unit with 19 beds and an average daily census of 15
• Patient population includes adults through geriatrics with oncology and hematology diagnoses
• Case types include oncologic emergencies, DNR/comfort care, chemo precautions, morphine and dilaudid drips, CADD pumps, and PCA pumps
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
• EMR: Epic (required); also uses Pyxis and SBAR
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within the facility and possibly to a satellite campus approximately 3 miles away
• No on-call requirements
• 14-week contract

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS and OCN
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Epic experience required
• Copies of required certifications must be provided for consideration
• Two supervisory references (Manager level or above; charge nurse references not accepted) are highly preferred for consideration

• Navy blue scrubs required
• RTO maximum of 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
• Holiday coverage policy: travelers expected to work all major holidays that fall within their assignment period if one or two occur; if three occur, travelers are expected to work two of them — major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day
• No schedule change requests or alternate shift requests are permitted; the posted day shift schedule is firm
• Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for at least one full year before returning as a traveler
• Compliance with all onboarding requirements must be completed on time; delays may result in a two-week start date push due to a bi-weekly orientation schedule
