American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medical ICU nights position in Reno, NV, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Medical ICU experience and an active NV RN license prior to start.

Details

• 8-bed Medical ICU in a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule: 3x12, 18:45–07:15
• Chest pain accredited center without a cath lab or IR — patients requiring these services are transferred to a sister campus
• ICU Charge RN also serves as the Rapid Response RN, supported by one Critical Care Technician per shift
• A dedicated, rotating group of intensivists is on-call 24/7
• Floating to other units may be required up to the traveler's competency level
• Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts
• No on-call requirements outside of scheduled shifts
• 13-week contract
• Epic EMR used for charting — orientation training provided, with an option to test out

Requirements

• Active NV RN license required prior to start (RNs who have never held a NV temp or perm license may still apply and must begin the application process immediately upon offer)
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of Medical ICU experience required
• Travel nursing experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and their families using the full nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Must cover a minimum of 2 of the 3 major holidays (holiday eve + holiday day counts as one holiday)
• Travelers who have previously worked at this facility must complete a 13-week break after their last contract before returning
• Blocked scheduling is not permitted
• Any requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed prior to placement and will not be compensated at the end of the contract
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
• Time and attendance tracked via Kronos
