American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist with at least 1 year of experience for a 13-week acute care travel assignment at a Critical Access Hospital, working 12-hour day shifts with rotating nights and weekend coverage.

• Acute care setting at a Critical Access Hospital (CAH)
• Respiratory Therapy department covering ER, inpatient, and some outpatient areas
• All age ranges served, from neonates to adults (ages 0–100)
• Treatment volume varies daily
• Equipment includes PB980 and Hamilton C1 ventilators, V60 BiPAP, and standard respiratory therapy equipment
• Charting via MEDITECH; experience preferred
• 12-hour shifts, 7a–7p, rotating days and nights
• Every 3rd weekend required
• Holiday coverage required on a rotating basis
• No on-call or standby call requirement
• No floating requirement mentioned
• Respiratory Manager/Supervisor on-site weekdays only; travelers may be the sole RT in-house at times

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience
• Active ND Respiratory Therapy license required at time of consideration; license required if applicable
• CRT certification required; RRT preferred
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• PALS and NRP certifications preferred
• Ability to work independently as the sole RT in-house
• Proficiency in ABG draws, EKGs, and full scope respiratory therapy duties
• First-time travelers will be considered
• 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Perform ABG draws, EKGs, ventilator management, and all standard respiratory therapy duties
• Hospitalist or intensivist is in-house 24/7 for physician support
• Orientation is 1–2 weeks depending on experience (approximately 12 orientation hours)
• No self-scheduling or block scheduling available
• Scrub color is flexible; black preferred but any color is acceptable
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Candidates may not currently be employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity; candidates employed PRN through outside firms will be considered
• RTO requests of 7 or fewer days per 13-week contract must be submitted upfront; additional RTO will not be approved
• Facial hair policy: candidates with facial hair must pass a fit test (3M Aura 1860 or 3M 1870+); candidates who cannot pass and are unable to remove facial hair may not be eligible for this position
