American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Hospice/Palliative Care position in a post-acute care setting, requiring at least one year of med/surg and hospice experience and an active KS or compact RN license.

Details

• Post-acute hospice care setting
• Caseload of 8–10 terminally ill patients per week across numerous diagnoses
• Case management role with biweekly travel for supervisory visits of home health aides (HHAs)
• Charting via Epic EMR
• Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8a–4p with rotating weekend and holiday on-call required
• 8-hour day shifts
• No floating required

Requirements

• Active KS or compact RN license required; pending licenses will not be accepted
• BLS certification (AHA) required; pending certifications will not be accepted
• National Hospice Certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of med/surg and hospice experience required
• Candidates must reside at least 60 miles from the facility; a valid driver's license is required to verify permanent address
• 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, each including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
• Valid driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include serving as case manager for a caseload of 8–10 patients and conducting biweekly travel supervisory visits of HHAs
• DME managers handle equipment needs
• One HHA is on staff to support care delivery
• Unit/department-specific orientation consists of 1–2 shifts; clinicians must be in-state for the orientation week even if initial modules are completed remotely
• Candidates may not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year; candidates employed PRN through outside firms will be considered
• Any and all professional scrub colors are acceptable
