Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Psychiatric RN for a day shift position in a comprehensive behavioral health setting in Maine, requiring at least 1 year of mental health nursing experience and an active ME or compact RN license.

Details

• Work setting is an Emergency Psychiatric Services department within a comprehensive behavioral healthcare facility
• Patient population includes individuals age 5 and up with psychiatric illnesses, including patients requiring medical co-management
• Common diagnoses include major depression, bipolar disorder, adjustment disorder, psychotic disorders, and detoxification needs
• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Schedule requires flexibility to support 24/7 unit coverage

Requirements

• Active ME RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI)
• Minimum 1 year of mental health nursing experience required
• Associate's degree (2-year) in Nursing required
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to manage stress and make sound decisions under pressure
• No previous employment with St. Mary's Regional Medical Center

Additional Information

• Responsible for direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process across all assigned areas
• Develops and periodically updates individualized, interdisciplinary care plans and evaluates patient outcomes
• Identifies and coordinates available community and facility resources for patients
• Works as part of an interdisciplinary patient care team
• CPI training must be current prior to start date
• Candidates with licensure violations or restrictions will not be considered
• Candidates whose permanent address is within 50 miles of the facility will receive a reduced pay rate
