American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) position at a Magnet-designated, Level III Trauma teaching hospital, requiring advanced cardiac device experience and a minimum of 2 years in specialty.

Details

• Short-term acute care hospital setting within the CVICU at a 672-bed Magnet-designated, Level III Trauma teaching hospital
• Floating is required within the ICU community, including CVICU, Med/Surg ICU, and Neuro ICU
• Patient ratio is 1:2
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call required
• Charting via Epic/Excellian; experience required
• Specialized equipment and procedures include: PA catheter interpretation and analysis, LVAD/RVAD/Impella, IABP, ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring, targeted temperature management, temporary pacemakers, bedside trachs and PEGs, Endotool glucose monitoring, Heart Mate 2 & 3, Centra Mag, and balloon pump
• CRRT with Prismaflex and ECMO experience preferred
• Open heart recovery direct from OR strongly preferred

Requirements

• Active MN RN license required; pending license accepted
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Minimum 2 years of CVICU or equivalent specialty experience required
• PA catheter interpretation and analysis experience required
• Experience with LVAD/RVAD/Impella and IABP required
• Epic/Excellian EMR experience required
• 1 supervisor reference required for consideration
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position

Additional Information

• Provide advanced cardiovascular critical care nursing to complex cardiac patients
• Pre-start orientation modules are required to be completed before the first day
• RTO requests of no more than 5 days are preferred
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Former permanent staff or per diem employees must have been separated from the facility for at least 3 months before being eligible
• Parking is available at a flat rate of $0.55/hour
