American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with a minimum of 2 years of experience for a Level 3 NICU night shift travel position requiring proficiency in neonatal and adult critical care skills.

Details

• Level 3 NICU at an acute care hospital
• Primary focus on critical care of neonates, including patients ≥22 weeks gestational age (wga)
• Required procedures include neonatal intubation, arterial blood sampling, and assistance with high-risk, low-volume bedside procedures
• Adult critical care skills required, including intubation, airway management, and arterial line insertion
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend rotation
• No on-call requirements
• Floating within hospital scope of practice and to a sister facility as needed
• Local candidates are accepted

Requirements

• RRT credential required — CRT candidates will not be considered
• Minimum 2 years of NICU or relevant critical care respiratory therapy experience
• Proficiency in neonatal critical care, including intubation of neonates ≥22 wga
• Adult critical care competency, including intubation, airway management, and arterial line insertion
• Current, active professional licensure required if applicable
• Copies of all relevant certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Candidates will undergo a clinical review to assess clinical fit prior to manager evaluation
• RTO is capped at a maximum of 7 days and may not be requested during the first week of the assignment
• Holiday coverage is expected: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work all of them; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• Travelers must be away from all facilities within this health system for a minimum of one full year before returning as a traveler
• No scheduling change requests or alternate shifts will be accommodated — the posted shift is firm
• Full compliance with onboarding requirements is necessary to start on time; delays may result in a two-week start date push due to the bi-weekly orientation schedule
