Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a NICU-based travel assignment requiring the ability to work across multiple critical care areas on a night shift schedule.

Details

• Work setting includes NICU, adult ICU, ED, and basic floor respiratory therapy
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:00
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call required
• Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed
• 12-week contract

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience
• Must be able to work in all critical care areas including NICU, adult ICU, and ED
• Active RRT license required at time of consideration — license required if applicable
• Copies of all relevant certifications required for consideration
• Two supervisory references (manager level or above; charge nurses not accepted) highly preferred

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are eligible for this position
• Local candidates are accepted
• Candidates must have been away from all facilities within this health system for at least one full year before returning as a traveler
• RTO maximum is 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
• Holiday coverage is expected: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work two of them
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• No scheduling changes, alternate shifts, or special schedule requests are permitted — the posted shift is firm
• Full compliance is required prior to the start date; incomplete compliance may result in a delayed start
