American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRT) with 2+ years of full-lifespan experience for a 12-hour day shift position at a Level I Trauma Center in Libertyville, IL.

Details

• Pulmonary Respiratory Therapy Services unit at a 273-bed Level I Trauma Center, Level II NICU, Magnet-designated teaching hospital and Primary Stroke Center in Libertyville, IL
• Full lifespan patient population including neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatric respiratory patients
• 1:1 patient ratios
• 12-hour day shifts starting at 6:00 AM, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend rotation
• No on-call requirements
• Holiday coverage based on facility needs
• Floating may be required within the hospital
• EMR: Epic (required)
• Ventilators: PB840, PB980, Servo-U, and Hamilton
• CPAP/BiPAP: V60, ResMed, and RemStar
• Transport vents: Hamilton
• High-flow oxygen therapy via Optiflow

Requirements

• RRT credential required; CRT also accepted
• Active Illinois RT license required if applicable
• Minimum 2 years of experience across the full patient lifespan (peds, adults, and geriatric)
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS (AHA), PALS, and NRP — all must be in hand at time of consideration
• Epic EMR experience required
• Proficiency in tracheostomy management, nitrous oxide procedures, proning techniques, ECMO, spontaneous breathing trials, and ABG draws
• Experience with ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) prevention
• Critical care experience required
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory therapy services to a diverse patient population ranging from neonates to geriatric patients
• Work under the supervision of a unit supervisor
• Orientation consists of 1 day on the unit
• Charcoal gray scrubs required
• Free parking available on-site
