American Traveler is hiring a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) with LTC or SNF experience for a day shift, Monday–Friday contract position in Harrisonville, MO.

Details

• Long-term care (LTC) / skilled nursing facility (SNF) setting
• Day shift, Monday–Friday schedule with no weekend or on-call requirements
• Flexible start time between 6:00 AM and 10:00 AM, with a consistent schedule communicated to the Director of Rehabilitation (DOR)
• 8-hour shifts, 35 hours per week
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active Missouri OTA license required; license required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of OTA experience required
• LTC or SNF setting experience required
• New graduates may be considered if they have completed a Level II fieldwork experience (Level I observation experience alone does not qualify)
• One professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provides rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment to patients with cognitive and/or physical functioning disorders under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist
• Administers ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of supportive and assistive devices
• Assesses patient progress and communicates with the supervising OT to adjust treatment plans accordingly
• Consults with patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers regarding cognitive and/or physical disorders
• Documents all required clinical information in the electronic documentation system and accurately records treatment minutes
• Participates in patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, rehabilitation meetings, and required in-services
• May supervise and support students under the guidance of the supervising Occupational Therapist
• Must adhere to NBCOT, AOTA, and state practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics standards
• No more than 7 days of RTO may be requested
