American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical/Surgical position at a Level I Trauma Center and Magnet Hospital, requiring a SC or compact RN license and a minimum of 2 years of M/S experience.

Details

• 13-week travel contract in an inpatient adult acute med/surg unit
• 8D EH is a 13-bed unit serving medical and surgical patients from general and family medicine service lines
• Patient population includes direct and new admissions from the ED, post-recovery, and other inpatient units across a variety of diagnoses
• Patient ratio is 1:4–5
• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Holiday rotation required
• Floating within scope of practice to meet facility needs is required
• Charting is done in Epic

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or Multi-State/Compact RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered
• Current BLS certification required (AHA-issued only)
• Minimum 2–3 years of med/surg RN experience required
• SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

• Level I Trauma Center, academic teaching facility, and Magnet-designated hospital
• Charge nurse experience is preferred
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates who have previously worked as permanent staff or PRN at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
• Local candidates (within 60 miles of the facility) are accepted on a case-by-case basis; non-local candidates are given priority
• Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are considered local
• RTO requests exceeding 7 days or including holidays are subject to facility approval and may delay the process
• Block scheduling may be requested but is subject to manager and unit approval
• Required orientation modules are completed prior to the start date
• All RNs are required to wear solid royal blue or white tops with royal blue bottoms
• A one-time $20 parking registration fee is required to obtain a hang tag for the designated parking garage
• Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
