American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant for a Home Health position in the Sarasota/Charlotte County area, requiring home health experience and a valid FL PTA license.

Details

• Home Health setting providing skilled visits under Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and commercial insurance plans
• Patient population includes med/surg, cardiac, ortho, post-surgical, COPD, CHF, pneumonia, CVA, Parkinson's, neuro, trauma, AKA/BKA, and failure-to-thrive cases
• Caseload of 6–8 skilled home visits per day, with a minimum of 6 points per day
• Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts (8:00–17:00)
• Weekend coverage required 1–2 weekends per contract
• Documentation uses BayCare Forms, BayCare Scheduling, and the ACE Timesheet system
• Equipment provided includes a laptop, MiFi device for internet access, and a portable printer

Requirements

• Current active Florida PTA license required (license required if applicable)
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of PTA experience required
• Home health experience required
• OASIS training preferred
• Proficiency with gait belts, rolling walkers, sit-to-stand lifts, sliding boards, soft/hard collars, standard walkers, supplemental oxygen, upper extremity prosthetics, and wheelchair assessment
• Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle required for home visits
• COVID vaccination required, or an approved exemption form on file
• Flu shot required or declination on file; mandatory mask wearing at all times while on assignment
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include patient assessment, therapeutic interventions for ortho and neuro conditions, home exercise program development, medication management, patient and family education, and billing documentation
• Clinicians are expected to identify signs and symptoms of physical, sexual, and psychological abuse, as well as implement safety and injury prevention strategies
• Any solid color scrubs are acceptable as the dress code
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position; prior home health experience is required
