American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical/Surgical Night shift position at a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated teaching hospital, with neuro/general surgery unit experience preferred.

Details

• Work on an acute care Medical/Surgical unit with a neuroscience and general surgery focus (8W Neuro/General Surgery Unit, 24 beds)
• Patient population includes neuroscience, general surgery, and mixed general medicine patients depending on census
• Patient ratio of 1:4-5 depending on staffing
• No step-down component on this unit
• Schedule is 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), 36 hours/week
• Holiday rotation required
• 3-4 weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• Charting via Epic

Requirements

• Active RN license for South Carolina (SC) or a compact/multi-state license — candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must have license active prior to start
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Current BLS certification required (AHA-issued only)
• ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred (AHA-issued)
• Neuro experience preferred
• SSN and driver's license required for consideration
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

• Level I Trauma Center, Magnet-designated teaching hospital with 820 staffed beds
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates who were previously permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
• Non-local candidates are prioritized; local candidates (within 60 miles of the facility) may be considered on a case-by-case basis
• Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are considered local
• Online modules are required to be completed prior to the start of the assignment
• Scrub requirement: solid royal blue or white top with royal blue bottoms
• Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all staff and contractors may be assigned to emergency response duties; peak months are August and September
• A $20 one-time registration fee is required for a parking hang tag granting access to the designated parking garage
