Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) with at least 1 year of outpatient experience for a 13-week hospital-based outpatient PT assignment with occasional inpatient flex coverage.

Details

• Primarily hospital-based outpatient PT setting, with potential to flex into the inpatient Medical-Surgical/Rehab unit
• Patient population spans from juvenile (ages 5+) to geriatric
• Common diagnoses include total joints, back/shoulder/foot pain, and neurological conditions such as TBI, stroke, and Parkinson's
• Caseload of 8–10 patients per day
• Documents using TruBridge - Evident EMR
• 8-hour day shifts, Monday–Friday 8am–5pm with a one-hour lunch break
• Weekend rotation required approximately once every 5 weekends, covering inpatient units

Requirements

• Current state PTA license required (license required if applicable)
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of outpatient PTA experience required; candidates with inpatient-only experience may also be considered

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include implementing individualized treatment plans, monitoring and documenting patient progress, guiding patients through functional exercises and equipment use, and maintaining communication with supervising PTs
• Orientation consists of 1–2 shifts with a preceptor
• Online onboarding modules must be completed prior to working the floor; modules take approximately 20 hours to complete
• May be asked to participate in holiday rotation coverage
• Dress code is business casual (collared shirt, khaki or black pants) or solid-colored scrubs
