American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with NICU/PICU experience for a day shift contract position at a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center, Teaching, and Magnet Hospital.

Details

• Level I Pediatric Trauma Center, Teaching, and Magnet Hospital with 323 inpatient beds, including a 70-bed NICU
• NICU unit with NICU/PICU patient population; pediatric experience strongly preferred
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30)
• 3 or 4 shifts per week depending on scheduling
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call required
• Floating within scope; no floating to sister facilities
• Block scheduling is not available
• Contract length of up to 26 weeks
• Charting via Cerner
• Local candidates are accepted at the travel rate

Requirements

• Current DC RRT license required if applicable
• Active certifications required prior to start: RRT, BLS, and PALS
• Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience required; 3+ years of recent experience strongly preferred for first-time travelers
• NICU or PICU experience preferred; pediatric experience strongly preferred
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained

Additional Information

• Scrubs must be any solid color, logo-free, and child-friendly attire is required
• Parking options vary by shift: nights only (onsite, ~$70/month), days (offsite, ~$35/month), day/night rotation (offsite, ~$35/month), day-only (~$50/month)
• For 13-week contracts, a maximum of 3 shifts off are permitted; for 26-week contracts, a maximum of 8 shifts off are permitted
• If taking 1 full week (7 days) off, an additional week must be added to the contract
• All time-off and scheduling requests must be disclosed upfront at the time of consideration
• Orientation modules average 20+ hours
