American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist with at least 1 year of experience for a 13-week night shift contract at a Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma, teaching hospital in Park Ridge, IL.

Details

• Pediatric respiratory therapy unit at a Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma, teaching hospital with a Level III NICU in Park Ridge, IL
• Patient population includes acute cases (RSV, Entero-Rhino viruses, Flu, intubated ICU patients) and chronic cases (Asthma, SMA) requiring nebs, MDI inhalers, chest PT, high-flow oxygen, and suctioning
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Floating required to NICU, PICU, general pediatric floors, and Peds ER on a rotational basis
• 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend rotation
• No on-call requirement
• Holiday coverage expected (1 summer, 1 winter)
• Charting via Epic; also uses Pyxis and Alaris

Requirements

• Active Respiratory Therapist license required if applicable
• RRT certification required; RRT-NPS preferred
• BLS, NRP, and PALS required
• Minimum 12 months of experience in pediatric respiratory therapy, with most recent experience within the last year
• Experience with invasive and non-invasive ventilation, Servo ventilator, inhaled nitric oxide (iNO), airway clearance techniques, aerosol delivery, and high-flow devices
• Epic EMR experience required
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
