American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift position at a Level 2 trauma, interventional stroke-certified facility with a Level 3 NICU, with a primarily adult patient population and first-time travelers welcome.

Details

• Level 2 trauma center, interventional stroke-certified facility with a Level 3 NICU that also serves as a regional transport resource
• Primarily adult RRT patient population, ranging from infants to geriatrics, including pediatric intubated patients
• Responsibilities include managing non-invasive and conventional ventilation, aerosol therapy, bedside pulmonary function tests, arterial line placement, oxygen management, patient education, and arterial/capillary blood gas draws
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 18:30–07:00
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within the facility and to a sister campus as needed
• No on-call requirements
• EMR: Epic; additional systems include Pyxis, SBAR, Viasys Vela, GE Carescape, and Viasys Avea

Requirements

• Active Georgia RRT license required (license required if applicable)
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS
• Minimum 1 year of experience as an RRT
• Trauma experience required
• Pulmonary function testing (spirometry) experience preferred
• Copies of all required certifications must be provided for consideration
• Two supervisory references (manager level or above; charge nurse not accepted) are highly preferred for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Slate gray scrubs required
• RTO maximum of 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
• If one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all applicable holidays with no holiday RTO
• If three major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work two of them, with one holiday RTO request eligible for review
• Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• Travelers must be away from all facilities in this health system for a full year before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• No schedule change requests or alternate shift requests are permitted; the posted night shift schedule is firm
