American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with a minimum of 2 years of critical care experience for a 12-hour night shift position at a Level 1 Trauma, academic medical center in Winston-Salem, NC.

Details

• Large academic medical center with 885 licensed beds, Level 1 Trauma designation, Chest Pain Center, and Stroke Center
• Respiratory Care department serving ICU and Medical/Surgical floors based on departmental needs
• Patient population includes post-surgical, pneumonia, COPD, asthma, and ED patients
• EMR: Epic (experience preferred)
• Preferred experience with Servo U, Servo Air, The Vest, Volara, Aerogen, Heated High Flow, and cough assist devices; HFJV and HFOV experience preferred if assigned to pediatric areas
• 12-hour night shifts, 1830–0700, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend rotation
• No on-call required
• Schedule cycles every 6 weeks
• No floating required — assignments based on traveler experience and unit needs

Requirements

• RRT credential required; CRT is acceptable but not preferred
• Active NC Respiratory Therapy license required (license required if applicable)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapy critical care experience
• Critical care experience required; Level 1 trauma center and/or high-acuity setting experience preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Must have had at least 1 year of separation from any AHSE facility after working a permanent position before being considered
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

• Lead Therapists are present on each shift, with both Adult and Pediatric Lead Therapists supporting a collaborative team environment
• Department culture emphasizes strong teamwork, with many team members and leaders who have extensive tenure and experience
• Orientation includes a hospital-wide NEO followed by 1–2 days of departmental orientation
• Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays
• RTO requires manager approval
