American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgical Oncology position requiring ONS/ONCC certification and hands-on chemotherapy experience, working night shifts in a stepdown and med/surg environment.

• Surgical Oncology unit within a hospital setting
• Serves a patient population with surgical oncology needs, including chemotherapy administration
• Position requires proficiency in both stepdown and med/surg care
• Night shift schedule
• 36 hours per week, three 12-hour shifts
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license (OK state or eNLC compact) currently in hand
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association required
• ONS or ONCC certification required (fundamentals may be considered)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Experience with chemotherapy administration and oncology patients required
• Experience in both stepdown and med/surg settings required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Full date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsible for managing an assigned patient group, including documenting responses to nursing interventions and medical treatments
• Administers medications, initiates and monitors IV infusions and blood products
• Assists physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Monitors and responds to changes in patients' physiological status
• Coordinates discharge planning and educates patients and families on care plans and hospital procedures
• Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Previous travelers who have completed a 26-week tenure (including one extension) must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible for a new contract at this facility
• Compliance requirements, including drug screening and background check, must be initiated immediately upon offer acceptance — this facility strictly enforces compliance deadlines and does not permit delayed start dates
