American Traveler is hiring a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) with a minimum of 1 year of acute and outpatient experience for a day shift position at a Level 3 Trauma Center in Oklahoma.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting at a Level 3 Trauma Center with 171 staffed beds
• Day shift, 5x8 schedule (8:00 AM–4:30 PM or 9:00 AM–5:30 PM)
• 13-week contract
• Epic EMR required
• Patient diagnoses include CVA, CABG and other thoracic/cardiovascular surgeries, orthopedic surgeries, respiratory failure, COPD, non-healing wound management, and amputations
• Weekend coverage may be required approximately once per month
• Block scheduling is not available

Requirements

• Active COTA license required for consideration (license required if applicable)
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in both acute and outpatient settings
• Epic EMR experience required — must include use within Oklahoma or within the past year
• Minimum of two successful prior travel assignments required with no performance or attendance issues — first-time travelers will not be considered
• No background hits allowed

• Provide occupational therapy services to patients across a broad range of acute diagnoses including neurological, cardiovascular, orthopedic, and wound care conditions
• Scrub color varies by unit

• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers
• RTO is capped at 5 days for the duration of the 13-week assignment; no RTO will be approved on the day before, day of, or day after a holiday, and no holiday RTO is permitted
• No additional RTO requests will be accepted after the time of submission or once on contract
• The facility maintains a zero-fault attendance policy — any missed scheduled shift, regardless of reason, counts as unexcused; two missed shifts result in a warning and three or more may result in contract cancellation
• Candidates must commit to completing all assigned onboarding modules prior to their start date
• Lab compliance must be completed within 48–72 hours of signing
