American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant with a minimum of 2 years of experience and acute care, SNF, or IP Rehab background for a 13-week travel contract at an inpatient rehabilitation unit in Atlantis, FL.

Details

• 42-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit within a 472-bed acute care medical/surgical teaching facility specializing in cardiovascular care, neuroscience, oncology, orthopedics, bariatrics, and Women's Services
• Patient population includes orthopedic, cardiovascular, neurologic, and general med/surg diagnoses
• Day shift schedule, Tuesday through Saturday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• One weekend per month required, with weekdays off to balance the schedule
• Holiday rotation is required
• No on-call or night shift requirements
• Unit uses Meditech for EMR documentation
• Typical equipment includes treatment beds, exercise balls, resistance bands, treadmills, and exercise bikes
• Day shift team typically includes a director, lead PT, 4–5 PTs, and 5–6 PTAs; average of 12 staff members per shift

Requirements

• Current FL PTA license required if applicable
• Current BLS certification required (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience as a PTA
• At least 6 months of active PTA experience within the last 6 months is required
• Experience in acute care, inpatient rehab, or SNF setting required
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration — Canadian SSNs are not accepted
• Two professional references required due to Florida placement
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provide inpatient rehabilitation to orthopedic, cardiovascular, neurologic, and general med/surg patient populations
• Ideal candidates are critical thinkers with strong patient care experience, compassion, excellent time management, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
• Grey scrubs are required
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — no local candidates will be considered
• DPT background is preferred but not required
• This facility is a nationally recognized teaching hospital
