American Traveler is hiring a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for a skilled nursing facility (SNF) position, working day shifts with at least 1 year of experience or new graduates considered.

Details

• Skilled nursing facility (SNF) setting
• Day shift schedule: 5x8-hour shifts (8:00–16:30)
• Occasional weekend coverage may be required
• Floating may be required
• 36 hours per week
• 13–26 week contract preferred
• Any charting system experience accepted

Requirements

• Active COTA license required if applicable
• BLS certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of SNF or relevant occupational therapy experience preferred; new graduates will be considered
• Experience across a range of work settings including SNF, acute care, adult rehab, and outpatient environments is a plus
• Skills in ADLs, adaptive equipment, home exercise programs, lifting and transfer techniques, and pre-discharge planning are beneficial
• Experience with orthopedic conditions (hip/knee fractures and replacements, hand injuries, soft tissue injuries) preferred
• Experience with prosthetics, orthotics, and functional or static splinting preferred
• 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide occupational therapy services to patients in a skilled nursing facility rehabilitation setting
• Responsibilities may include ADL training, adaptive equipment recommendation, home exercise programming, and pre-discharge planning
• Therapeutic modalities may include TENS, ultrasound, edema massage, biofeedback, and feeding techniques
• All time off and scheduling requests must be disclosed upfront
• New graduate COTAs will be considered for this position
