Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced PCU RN for a 13-week travel assignment in a progressive care unit, requiring prior telemetry experience and at least one completed travel assignment.

Details

• Progressive care unit (PCU) within a hospital setting, department 7D/1B
• Telemetry and progressive care patient population in an 18+ bed unit
• 12-hour night shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours per week)
• Floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles is required
• Epic EMR experience is preferred

Requirements

• Active NM or Compact RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years of current experience in an 18+ bed telemetry/progressive care unit required
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS — must be issued by the American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross
• NIHSS certification preferred
• ADN or ASN degree required
• At least one completed 13-week travel assignment required
• Must be a team player, flexible, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• English proficiency (speak, read, write) required

Additional Information

• Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document individualized patient care throughout each shift
• Coordinates care through collaboration with patients, families, and the broader healthcare team
• Administers medications and treatments per physician orders or standard protocols
• Assumes clinical supervision responsibilities for LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel
• A Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test must be passed on-site before beginning the assignment; one retest is permitted upon failure — a second failure will result in contract termination
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
• Former permanent employees of the health system must wait one year before being considered as a traveler
