American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 3+ years of experience for a night shift position in a progressive acute care environment in California.

Details

• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• Every other weekend required
• No call or on-call requirements
• No floating required
• Patient population spans neonatal to geriatric
• Responsibilities include ventilator management, airway management, oxygen therapy, aerosolized medication delivery, bronchoscopy assistance, blood gas analysis, secretion management, and patient monitoring
• Procedures include invasive and noninvasive life support, BiPAP, CPAP, incentive spirometry, IPPB, chest physical therapy, pulse oximetry, end-tidal CO2 monitoring, and neonatal ventilatory care

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of Respiratory Therapy experience required
• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program; HS Diploma required (equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree)
• Active California RRT License required if applicable
• Current BLS certification required
• 2 supervisor references from within the past two years required for consideration
• Copies of all certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

• Perform respiratory therapy modalities across a wide range of clinical settings, including neonatal and critical care
• Responsible for complete and accurate documentation of all therapy administered in medical and departmental records
• Expected to respond to and assist with Code Blue calls as directed
• Must maintain good communication with physicians, nursing staff, patients, and families, including notifying supervisors of any orders deemed unreasonable or in error
• Attend in-service education, conference sessions, and staff meetings
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have been away for at least 1 year to be eligible to return as a traveler
• Only 1 holiday RTO request will be approved during the assignment
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel pay rate
