American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 3+ years of experience for a day shift position in a progressive healthcare environment serving patients from neonatal to geriatric populations.

Details

• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30)
• Every other weekend required
• No call or on-call requirements
• No floating required
• Patient population spans neonatal through geriatric settings

Requirements

• Current RRT credential required
• Active CA RRT license required (license required if applicable)
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 3 years of respiratory therapy experience required
• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program required (equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree)
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel pay rate
• 2 supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Copies of all certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

• Perform ventilator management and weaning for patients on invasive and noninvasive life support, including BIPAP and CPAP
• Administer oxygen therapy and aerosolized medications via MDI, nebulizer, and other devices
• Perform diagnostic procedures including bronchoscopy, arterial/venous/capillary blood sampling, blood gas analysis, sputum induction, and bedside spirometry
• Provide secretion management including chest physical therapy, IPV, bland aerosol, and USN
• Monitor patients via pulse oximetry, end-tidal CO₂, conscious sedation monitoring, and apnea monitoring
• Perform airway management and cardiac support during code situations
• Provide neonatal respiratory therapy and ventilatory care
• Provide patient education on breathing exercises and home respiratory routines
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation in the medical record and departmental records
• Former employees of this facility must have been away for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Only 1 holiday RTO request will be approved during the contract
