American Traveler is hiring a travel Occupational Therapist for an acute care hospital position requiring a minimum of 1 year of experience and Level 1 trauma experience, working day shifts Monday through Friday with rotating weekend coverage.

Details

• Work in an inpatient acute care setting at a large short-term acute care teaching hospital with 1,259 staffed beds
• OT Therapy Services treats patients across cardiopulmonary, neurological, orthopedic, medicine, trauma, surgical, and oncology populations
• Day shift schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00–15:30 (start time flexible up to 8:00)
• One weekend (Saturday and Sunday) required per 4-week period, with a compensatory day off during that week
• May be utilized across any therapy service line as needed
• Epic EMR — experience required
• Specialized equipment includes SPH equipment, vital carts, iPad interpreter, and ADL supplies

Requirements

• Current OT license required; Missouri State License required at time of consideration — license required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of OT experience in an acute care setting
• Level 1 trauma experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Establish individualized treatment plans and provide patient-centered treatment with consideration for discharge needs, expected functional outcomes, and appropriate equipment
• Educate, collaborate, and conference with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care team members, including making referrals to specialists as needed
• Delegate appropriately to OT assistants and technicians through written and verbal communication based on patient need and skill level
• Complete documentation in accordance with departmental policies
• Scrub color: black or grey
• RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Travelers in this Allied role may remain for up to 12 months, after which a 6-month break in service is required
• Former permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to any facility in this health system as a traveler
• Monthly parking passes are available through the facility's Public Safety department; parking information is provided during orientation
