American Traveler is hiring a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) with LTC or SNF experience for a Monday–Friday day shift contract position in Humansville, MO.

Details

• Long-term care (LTC) / skilled nursing facility (SNF) setting
• Day shift, Monday–Friday with flexible start times between 6:00 AM and 10:00 AM, as long as the schedule is consistent and communicated with the Director of Rehabilitation (DOR)
• 35 guaranteed work week hours
• No on-call requirements
• Weekend work is not required unless a holiday falls on a weekday, in which case hours may be made up on the weekend
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active Missouri OTA license required (compact license accepted); license required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of OTA experience required
• LTC or SNF setting experience required
• New graduates will be considered provided they have completed a Level II fieldwork experience (not solely a Level I observation experience)
• 1 professional reference required for consideration
• All certifications must be active at time of consideration

Additional Information

• Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary occupational therapy interventions to patients with cognitive and/or physical functioning disorders under the supervision and direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT)
• Administer ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of supportive and assistive devices as part of the rehabilitation plan
• Assess patient progress and communicate with the supervising OT to adjust treatment plans accordingly
• Provide consultation to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers regarding cognitive and/or physical disorders
• Document all required clinical information in the electronic documentation system and accurately record treatment minutes
• Participate in patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and rehabilitation meetings
• Support DME procurement and student supervision under the guidance of the supervising OT
• Adhere to NBCOT, AOTA, and Missouri state practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics standards
• No more than 7 days of RTO may be requested for this assignment
