American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant with LTC or SNF experience and an active Missouri PTA license for a 13-week long-term care assignment in Mound City, MO.

Details

• Long-term care (LTC) / skilled nursing facility (SNF) setting
• Day shift, 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday
• Flexible start time, no earlier than 6:00 AM and no later than 10:00 AM, as long as it is consistent and communicated with the Director of Rehabilitation
• 35 hours per week
• No weekends required, except to make up hours when a holiday falls on a weekday
• No on-call requirements
• Caseload typically ranges from 7–12 patients per day depending on case mix
• Treatment times are approximately 1 hour for Medicare B and 30–35 minutes for Medicare A and managed care patients
• Group therapy is available and used to support productivity
• Productivity expectation for assistants is 90–93%
• Each therapist is typically assigned a dedicated device for documentation

Requirements

• Active Missouri PTA license required; license required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of PTA experience required
• LTC or SNF setting experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• 1 professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment under the supervision and direction of a Physical Therapist
• Administer manual techniques, therapeutic exercises, ambulation, modalities, and use of supportive and assistive devices as part of the rehabilitation plan
• Assess patient progress and communicate adjustments to the supervising PT, documenting all updates in the electronic medical record
• Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers regarding physical disorders
• Participate in patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and rehabilitation meetings
• Accurately record treatment minutes per regulatory and clinical requirements
• Support and supervise students under the guidance of the supervising Physical Therapist
• Adhere to APTA standards and state practice acts, code of conduct, and professional ethics
• No more than 7 days of RTO may be requested for this assignment
