American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with a minimum of 2 years of experience at an academic Level 1 Trauma Center for an evening/night shift position at a Magnet-designated hospital ranked #1 in Wisconsin.

Details

• Work at a Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma Center and leading academic teaching and referral hospital in Madison, WI
• Respiratory therapy unit serving IMC and ICU-level patients
• Patient population includes both adult and pediatric patients
• Procedures include aerosolized medication delivery, volume expansion, airway clearance techniques, tracheostomy care, sputum inductions, non-invasive ventilation, high-flow therapy, and mechanical ventilation
• Evening and night shift hours: 1900–0730, 2300–0730, and 1500–2330
• Shift schedule includes a mix of 8-hour and 12-hour shifts
• Every other weekend rotation required
• Holiday coverage required
• One on-call shift per 6-week scheduling period
• Travelers float first and may be scheduled across multiple units or locations within the organization based on staffing needs

Requirements

• Graduate of a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Therapy program required
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a staff respiratory therapist
• Experience at an academic Level 1 Trauma Center or similarly sized hospital required
• Pediatric and adult experience preferred
• Prior travel assignment experience highly preferred
• RRT credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) required
• CRT credential from the NBRC required
• Wisconsin Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required upon hire — license required if applicable
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Candidate's permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the primary work site

Additional Information

• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including physicians, care team leaders, staff nurses, and other caregiving disciplines to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
• If the primary department no longer has a staffing need during the assignment, shifts will be reassigned to another department to fulfill the contract
• Parking permit required if parking on-site; alternative transportation options include bus, park-and-ride, and private parking
