American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with trauma experience for a night shift position at a Level 2 trauma center with a certified stroke program and Level 3 NICU.

Details

• Level 2 trauma center with interventional stroke certification and a Level 3 NICU that also serves as a regional transport resource
• Patient population spans infants to geriatrics, primarily adult RRT with exposure to pediatric intubated patients
• Responsibilities include managing non-invasive and conventional ventilation, aerosol therapy, bedside pulmonary function tests, arterial line placement, oxygen management, patient education, and arterial/capillary blood gas collection and draws from lines
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 18:30–07:00
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within the facility and to a sister campus as needed
• No on-call requirements
• EMR: Epic; additional systems include Pyxis, SBAR, Viasys Vela, GE Carescape, and Viasys Avea

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience
• Trauma experience required
• Active GA RRT license required (license required if applicable)
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS
• Pulmonary function testing (spirometry) experience preferred
• Copies of all required certifications needed for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Local candidates are accepted
• Slate gray scrubs required
• RTO maximum of 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
• If one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them and no holiday RTO may be requested; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work two, with one holiday RTO request eligible for review
• Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• Travelers must have been away from all facilities in this health system for at least one full year before returning as a traveler
• Two supervisory references (manager level or above; charge nurses not accepted) are highly preferred
