Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant with an active PTA license and a minimum of 3 years of experience for a 13-week assignment in a long-term care/skilled nursing facility setting.

Details

• Work setting is a long-term care/skilled nursing facility focused on rehabilitation therapy
• Patient population consists of residents requiring physical therapy to maximize functional abilities and independence
• Day shift schedule
• Full-time, 40 hours per week

Requirements

• Active PTA license required (license required if applicable)
• Associate degree required
• Current BLS/BCLS certification required
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a PTA
• Prior experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs independently; lifts over 50 lbs require a two-person assist
• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, and reach as part of normal duties
• DOB and SSN may be required for consideration

Additional Information

• Deliver physical therapy services under physician orders, following evaluation and supervision by a licensed PT, while observing all precautions, indications, and contraindications
• Implement and progress individualized treatment plans of care in alignment with functional short- and long-term goals
• Document all therapeutic interactions with residents in a timely and thorough manner, ensuring accessibility to the broader care team
• Recommend and instruct residents and caregivers on appropriate assistive devices and home exercise programs
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and collaborate with care team members on resident progress and status changes
• Support compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and other applicable reimbursement regulations
• Contribute to the development of new rehabilitation programs and services
• Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment and adhere to all infection control procedures
