American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with neonatal and pediatric experience for a day shift travel assignment at a children's hospital in San Antonio, TX.

• Children's hospital respiratory therapy department
• Neonatal (NEO) and pediatric patient population
• Must be able to work in PICU, NICU, and Pediatric ER
• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• RRT credential by NBRC required
• TX RT or RCP license required (license required if applicable)
• Current BLS certification required (AHA only)
• Current ACLS certification required (AHA only)
• Current PALS certification required (AHA only)
• Current NRP certification required
• 1–3 years of experience preferred
• All certifications must be active and non-expired

Additional Information

• Responsible for pulmonary care of neonatal and pediatric patients under physician direction with minimal supervision
• Performs patient assessments and develops respiratory care plans
• Duties include ventilator management, airway management (NT and ET suctioning), aerosolized drug delivery, BiPAP/CPAP management, oxygen therapy, blood gas collection and analysis, chest film analysis, and EKG analysis
• Emergency response participation (Code Blue and White) required
• Advanced practice skills may include INO/HeO2 management, pulmonary function testing, bronchoscopy assist, hemodynamic monitoring, waveform analysis, and polysomnography
• RRTs may serve in a Shift Leader or Team Leader capacity
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates; local candidates are not accepted unless the position explicitly states otherwise
