American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with Level 1 Trauma experience for a night shift position at a large inpatient facility in Illinois.

Details

• Inpatient hospital setting with a dedicated Respiratory Care department
• Level 1 Trauma facility
• Performs respiratory therapy services across inpatient units and the Emergency Department
• Night shift schedule: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
• 3 days per week, 12-hour shifts (36 hours per week)
• Epic EMR used; experience is required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy required
• RRT credential (NBRC Certified Respiratory Therapist) required
• BLS (American Heart Association) required
• Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required if applicable
• Level 1 Trauma experience at a large facility required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Proficiency in English (speak, read, write) required

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include evaluating patients for routine respiratory care therapy on inpatient units and in the Emergency Department
• Completes assessments on ventilator patients and all patients on respiratory care services
• Obtains and analyzes arterial, venous, and capillary blood gases
• Prepares, tests, and maintains respiratory therapy equipment; reports malfunctioning equipment as appropriate
• Accurately charts on respiratory flow sheets and care plans within Epic EMR
• Documents patient response, procedure details, and sleep therapy compliance; relays relevant information to the physician
• Assists with cleaning respiratory care equipment and stocking supplies on inpatient units
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility may not have been on continuous assignment for more than 1 year; a 6-month break in service may be required before returning
