American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist with 2+ years of PICU and/or Level III+ NICU experience for a 13-week night shift travel assignment at a pediatric and neonatal acute care facility in West Virginia.

Details

• Acute care children's hospital setting covering PICU and NICU
• Pediatric and neonatal patient population
• Approximately 20–25 treatments per day
• Staffed with approximately 8 RTs per shift; traveler will not be the only RT on duty
• Uses Hamilton and Servo ventilators, Respironics and Hamilton BiPAP, and Fisher & Paykel HFNC
• Charting via Epic
• 12-hour night shifts, 3x per week
• Weekend rotation required — 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule (weekends include Friday, Saturday, and Sunday shifts)
• Holiday coverage may be required
• No on-call or standby requirements
• No floating required

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a PICU (Level I or Level IV) and/or Level III or greater NICU
• RRT credential preferred; CRT may be considered
• Active WV license required if applicable
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), and NRP
• Point of Care Technician certification through the West Virginia Department of Health & Human Resources required
• Epic EMR experience
• 2 references required for consideration: 1 supervisor reference and 1 peer or additional supervisor reference (if permanent employment within the last 12 months, one reference must be from that facility)
• Driver's license copy required for consideration

Additional Information

• Perform all aspects of respiratory care including aerogen, Volara, cough assist, IPV, NAVA, and airway management
• Operate Hamilton and Servo ventilators; assist with intubation (independent intubation not required)
• Perform intrahospital transport of patients
• Hospitalist and intensivist are in-house
• Department-specific orientation provided; duration based on prior experience
• Preference scheduling is permitted within the required weekend commitment structure
• Scrub color: stone/light gray
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from this facility to be eligible; no local travelers accepted
• Travelers who have previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before reapplying
• Travelers may not work within WVU Medicine cumulatively for longer than one year before a 2-year break is required
