Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT) with PICU and ER experience for a 13-week night shift travel contract at a Level IV Trauma Center and major teaching hospital.

Details

• Short-term acute care hospital setting at a Level IV Trauma Center and major teaching hospital (COTH member) with 838 staffed beds
• PICU unit with crossover into ER settings, including nights with a small therapy team
• Patient population includes both adult and pediatric critical care and general care cases
• Cerner EMR in use
• 3x12 night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Weekday and some weekend shifts required
• Floating within scope to meet facility needs, including to sister facilities
• Block scheduling is open to accommodation but not guaranteed
• Free parking for travelers
• Scrubs are provided by the facility

Requirements

• RRT or CRT credential required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in respiratory therapy
• PICU and ER experience strongly required — clinicians will work in both settings, at times with only two therapists on nights
• Experience with critical care and general care cases in both adult and pediatric populations
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NALS (for pediatric patients)
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be considered; travel pay rates apply to those residing 100+ miles away
• Pending state license accepted; license required if applicable
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Copy of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory therapy services across PICU and ER settings, including during low-staffing night shifts
• Orientations are scheduled every other Tuesday
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Time-off requests must be submitted two weeks prior to the next schedule and are subject to manager approval
• Holidays may require coverage based on scheduling needs
