American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with a minimum of 2 years of PICU/NICU experience at a children's hospital for a day shift, 4x12 pediatric critical care position at a children's hospital in Indiana.

Details

• Pediatric critical care setting at a children's hospital
• Home unit assignment will be NICU, PICU, or Peds, determined upon arrival and subject to change based on facility need
• Primarily assigned to L&D responsibilities
• Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Schedule is four 12-hour shifts per week
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Floating to PICU, NICU, Peds, and an affiliate hospital may occur
• Cerner EMR — experience required

Requirements

• Active Indiana (IN) state RRT license required; IN temporary license accepted provided a permanent license application has also been submitted — license required if applicable
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NBRC RRT, NRP
• PALS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of PICU or NICU experience required
• Children's hospital experience within the last 3 years required; candidates with Level I adult trauma facility experience may be considered
• L&D experience required
• Education must be accredited by CoARC and regionally accredited by CHEA

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory therapy services across pediatric specialty units including PICU, NICU, and general Peds
• Skilled in ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation; Servo U experience preferred
• Proficient with a broad range of inhaled medications and nebulizer delivery systems
• Competency in airway management, tracheostomy care, ABG interpretation, and pulmonary hygiene
• AHA and RQI certifications are accepted and must be current
• Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Up to 5 days of RTO may be approved; additional RTO requires facility approval
• Any current or former permanent or PRN IU Health employee must have a 12-month break before being eligible to work as a traveler
• Current or past IU Health travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health are required to take a consecutive break to reset travel eligibility — contact your recruiter for details
