Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least 2 years of NICU and high-risk delivery experience for a neonatal and pediatric unit, requiring multiple advanced certifications.

Details

• Position is in a NICU/Respiratory Therapy department caring for neonates and pediatric patients
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week from 7:00 to 19:00
• Weekend work is required every other weekend unless otherwise specified
• Floating may occur within the facility, including adult care, and possibly to a sister campus
• Uses Draeger and Servo I equipment and Epic EMR (Epic experience required)
• High-risk delivery and various respiratory therapy procedures including ABG interpretation, BiPAP, CPAP, trach collar, and surfactant administration
• Optional on-call sign-up during times of volume variation
• Scrub color is hunter green

Requirements

• Active RRT credential and professional licensure required if applicable
• Minimum 2 years of recent NICU experience with high-risk deliveries
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, PALS, and RRT
• Experience with umbilical cord gases, pulmonary toileting, ABG interpretation, basic EKG, BiPAP, CPAP, trach collar, and surfactant administration
• Epic charting system experience required
• Copies of all certifications must be provided for consideration
• First-time travelers will be considered

Additional Information

• Ability to float within facility and to the sister campus as needed
• Expected to work all major holidays falling during the assignment; restrictions on holiday time off apply
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off permitted, not allowed during the first week
• Must be away from all related healthcare facilities for one full year to be eligible for return as a traveler
• Teamwork required with other respiratory therapists and clinical staff
• Full compliance with onboarding requirements is necessary to start on time
• Travel pairs are not permitted on the same shift in the same unit
• Two managerial or higher-level supervisory references are highly preferred for consideration
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
