Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist with recent children's hospital experience for a PICU night shift contract, requiring an IN state license and Cerner charting experience.

Details

• Work in pediatric critical care units including NICU, PICU, and Peds
• May be assigned a home unit but will float among NICU, PICU, and Peds based on facility need
• Primarily cover Labor & Delivery, but also care for pediatric populations in critical care settings
• Possible floating to affiliate facilities within the health system
• Night shifts are 3x12 hours, 7:00 pm to 7:00 am
• Every other weekend required
• Cerner EMR experience required

Requirements

• Current Indiana State Respiratory Therapist license or compact license required; temporary IN license accepted if applied for both
• License required if applicable
• Minimum 2 years of PICU experience and recent children's hospital experience within the last 3 years required
• L&D experience required
• NICU or PICU experience required
• Certification in ACLS, BLS, and NBRC RRT required; PALS preferred; NRP required for those working L&D and may be obtained after offer
• Education must be from a CoARC and CHEA-accredited program
• Cerner charting experience required
• First-time travelers accepted

Additional Information

• Provide advanced respiratory care for pediatric and neonatal patients in critical care settings, including L&D
• Must be able to float to other specialties within pediatric critical care as needed
• May be required to float to affiliate hospitals
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Up to 5 days of requested time off may be auto-approved
• Returning permanent or PRN employees must have a 12-month break before being eligible to apply as a traveler
• Only AHA and RQI certifications are accepted and must be current at time of consideration
