American Traveler is seeking an experienced CRT/ECMO Specialist Respiratory Therapist for night shifts, requiring ECMO machine expertise and critical care experience.

Details

• Work in a short-term acute care hospital in the adult critical care/respiratory therapy unit
• Specialty focus on ECMO procedures and respiratory/neuro diagnostics
• Care for adult patients with conditions including ARDS, aspiration, bronchoscopy, COVID, ECMO, fresh tracheostomy, and pneumonia
• Perform airway management, ventilator management, medication administration, and arterial punctures
• Use Excellian/Epic EMR; Epic/Excellian experience required
• Night shift schedule: 3x12 hours (18:30–07:00); may occasionally rotate to days (06:30–19:00)
• Every other weekend required
• Floats may be required within the hospital or to affiliated facilities
• On-call coverage required as needed by the department
• No block scheduling guarantees; scheduling requests to be discussed with manager

Requirements

• Current RRT credential and applicable state license (license required if applicable; pending license accepted if active by start)
• Minimum 2 years of RRT experience and at least 1 year as an ECMO Specialist
• Experience in adult critical care required
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, RRT
• Epic/Excellian charting experience required
• Competency with airway management, ventilator techniques, medication administration via respiratory therapies, and ABG interpretation
• Adults only; no locals accepted—must reside at least 100 miles from facility

Additional Information

• Provide advanced respiratory care including ECMO, ventilator management, airway procedures, and medication delivery
• Work as part of a Magnet hospital team in a Level III trauma teaching facility
• Scrubs: ceil blue provided or olive green if bringing own
• Mandatory participation in call and floating within assigned scope of practice
• First-time travelers accepted with minimum required ECMO experience
• Must not have worked at the facility as staff or per diem within the past 3 months
• Maximum of 5 days RTO (requested time off) ideal for contract consideration
• Parking available at a flat rate of $0.55/hour
