Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist with 4+ years of PICU experience and current ACLS and BLS certifications for a 13-week PICU contract assignment.

Details

• Work in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) within an acute care hospital
• Assigned to either day (7:00-19:00) or night (19:00-7:00) 12-hour shifts, determined at assignment start
• Patient ratio is 1:4
• Floating required within scope to CCU, Flex Unit, SDU, PEDS, PICU, PCU, and FBS
• Patient population includes ER, PICU, NICU trauma, CCU, and high acuity floor therapy cases
• Use of respiratory therapy equipment including Servo U, V60, and High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
• Documentation performed using Cerner EMR
• Weekend shifts required every other weekend

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of respiratory therapy experience with PICU, NICU, and Adult ICU experience preferred
• Active RRT licensure required by start date; compact license accepted until Alaska license is obtained
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Additional certifications: CRT, NRP, and PALS
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• First-time travelers will not be considered
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Work as part of an interdisciplinary critical care team in a Magnet-designated acute care facility
• Scrub attire may be any color or pattern except in L&D/OR where hospital-provided scrubs are required
• No on-call requirement
• Free parking available in the designated parking structure
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
