American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift position requiring 5+ years' experience and advanced skills in neonatal and pediatric critical care.

Details

• Work in a hospital setting on a variety of pediatric units, including a 70+ bed NICU, 10 bed PICU, 32 bed Peds Floor, and 14 bed Peds Emergency Department
• Care for neonatal and pediatric patients with complex respiratory conditions
• Night shifts with 12-hour schedules (18:45 - 07:15), with options for 3x12s or 4x12s per week
• Must be able to float throughout all pediatric units and floors as needed
• Call may be required depending on workload
• Work every third weekend
• Expect to handle 50%-60% NICU and PICU cases daily
• Use of advanced respiratory equipment including Servo-I, Servo-N, HOFV-3100 A & B, Hamilton T1, Smart Vest, and others
• Epic EMR experience required
• No block scheduling

Requirements

• Valid NC or Compact RRT license required at time of start (license required if applicable)
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, with extensive NICU and PICU experience
• BLS, NRP, PALS, and RRT certifications required
• Strong skills in airway management, ventilator management (including BiPAP, CPAP, high-frequency oscillators), and advanced oxygen therapy
• Proficiency with Epic EMR and Pyxis strongly preferred
• Competence with pediatric and neonatal procedures such as intubation assist, capillary and umbilical blood gases, and specialized medication administration
• Candidates must not have worked as a staff or PRN employee at Novant Health/New Hanover in the last 12 months
• First-time travelers will only be considered with a highly advanced and accurate skill set

Additional Information

• Must participate in 36-hour unit orientation
• Expected to provide advanced respiratory care and collaborate across interdisciplinary teams
• Black scrubs required and not provided
• All testing and compliance modules must be completed within 48 hours of assignment confirmation as part of onboarding
• Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays as part of the contract
• No RTO during the first week of assignment; up to 7 days RTO allowed if not on a holiday with facility approval required for more
• Travel pairs permitted if working different units
• Candidates residing within 50 miles are offered local rates
