Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with an active Alaska license and at least 2 years of experience for an outpatient-focused role in a dynamic rehabilitation therapy setting.

Details

• Primarily outpatient rehabilitation therapy with occasional travel to off-site, community, or remote locations
• Patient population spans a wide range of ages and diagnosis with diverse movement abilities and functional deficits
• Rotating day shifts, including some weekends
• Services may be provided in settings such as in-patient, outpatient, community events, home visits, and remote sites
• Use of computers, tablets, and various software applications required for documentation and communication

Requirements

• Master’s or doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program, or APTA-approved baccalaureate with 2 years of proven work and continuing education experience
• Current and active Physical Therapist license in Alaska required
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Physical Therapist
• BLS certification required
• Valid driver's license required
• Must have received the flu vaccination
• Fingerprinting required prior to start; processing may affect start date
• Must live at least 50 miles away from the facility to be eligible for consideration
• Ability to perform physically demanding techniques and repetitive or heavy lifting up to 50 pounds
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Responsible for patient assessment, evaluation, development and implementation of individualized therapy plans, and supervision or modification of care
• Collaborates as part of an interdisciplinary team and participates in care conferences and patient education
• Leads and contributes to program development, quality improvement, and productivity enhancement
• May direct work of support staff, students or interns and educate staff and families on therapeutic exercises and equipment
• Occasional travel to remote areas by boat or plane may be required, sometimes in challenging weather conditions
• Exposure to infectious organisms is possible; use of precautions and appropriate protective equipment is necessary
• This position is covered under the Indian Child Protection Act
• Latex may be present in the workplace
