Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist with at least 2 years of experience in adult critical care, progressive care, medical surgical care, and general pediatrics for a night shift assignment.

Details

• Work in a hospital pulmonary unit caring for both adult and pediatric patient populations
• Responsibilities include cardiopulmonary diagnostic testing, respiratory treatments, and ventilatory support
• 12-hour night shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
• 3 shifts per week for a total of 36 hours
• Weekend, holiday, and on-call coverage required
• Floating to alternate locations within 20 miles of the assigned facility may be required
• Assignment length is 13 weeks with potential consideration for a 26-week contract
• Experience with Epic EMR is preferred but not required; training is available on-site

Requirements

• Valid New Mexico Respiratory Care Practitioner license required if applicable
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from NBRC required
• Current BLS certification from American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross required
• Current ACLS certification required
• Current PALS certification required
• Current NALS or NRP certification required
• Associate’s degree or diploma in Respiratory Care required
• At least 2 years of recent experience in adult critical care, progressive care, medical surgical care, and general pediatrics
• Must be flexible, a team player, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted

Additional Information

• Provide cardiopulmonary diagnostic and respiratory therapeutic support for inpatients and outpatients
• Pass/fail basic cardiac arrhythmia testing may be completed on the first day of orientation
• Candidates who previously worked as permanent staff must wait one year before being considered as a traveler
• Assignment schedules for traveling pairs are not guaranteed to be the same
• Holiday and variable assignments are part of department staffing needs
• First-time travelers are not specifically excluded
