American Traveler is seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist for a NICU/pediatric night shift position requiring prior NICU and pediatrics experience.

Details

• Work in a NICU and pediatric setting serving neonates, infants, children, and adolescents
• Night shift position with 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), with availability for either 3x12 or 4x12-hour schedules
• Units utilize equipment including high frequency jet ventilator, bubble CPAP, oscillator, RAM cannula, and NAVA
• Patients range from critically ill neonates to adolescents, including high-volume ER, Level 1 Trauma Center, and Level 3 NICU
• Charting is done in Epic; Epic experience is required
• Weekend coverage required, may involve every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts over 6 weeks
• Holiday coverage required for at least one holiday per 13-week contract
• Will be required to float within skill set, including adult patients

Requirements

• Current RRT credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC); CRT not accepted
• Active license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the VA State Board of Medicine or eligibility for a 90-day temporary authorization if licensed in another state
• Current certifications: BLS, NRP, and PALS
• Minimum 1 year of prior experience in NICU and pediatric settings, with critical care experience in Level 1 Trauma or Level 3 NICU
• Advanced ventilator management skills including HFJV, HF oscillator, Jet, Servo I, V60, 3100A/B, and Nitric systems
• Proficient in CPAP/NCPAP/BiPAP, extubation techniques, all modes of invasive/non-invasive ventilation, and nitric oxide delivery
• Epic EMR experience required
• Two references required at time of consideration
• Copy of driver’s license and SSN needed for consideration
• License required if applicable

• Provide advanced respiratory care to critically ill neonates, infants, and pediatric patients in high-acuity settings
• Work as a part of a multidisciplinary team in a teaching and Magnet-designated environment
• Training on state-of-the-art equipment and support from experienced NICU/PICU teams
• First-time travelers considered, though 1 year of travel experience is preferred
• Locals accepted; specific radius rule applies
• Must work one holiday per 13-week assignment
• All RTO, block, and special scheduling requests must be submitted prior to assignment
• Scrub color or dress code requirements not specified
