Description

American Traveler is seeking an Occupational Therapist with at least 1 year of acute inpatient or rehab experience for a 13-week inpatient assignment using Epic EMR.

Details

• Work in an acute inpatient rehab therapy setting with possible float to a nearby facility if census is low
• Typical caseload is 8 to 10 patients per day with one therapist per day
• Primary patient population includes ortho-total joints, neuro-strokes, occasional brain injuries, medical, and General ICU
• Care areas include Acute Inpatient and Swing Bed
• Day shift, five 8-hour shifts per week (Monday to Friday, 0830-1700), no self-scheduling
• May be required to cover holidays
• Orientation consists of 2-3 days in the department, with onboarding scheduled as 5 days of 8-hour shifts
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active Occupational Therapy license required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of OT experience in acute inpatient or rehab setting
• Current BLS certification required
• Must provide 2 professional references: one supervisor from the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the past 3 years, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
• Driver’s license required
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius from the facility
• First-time travelers are welcome

Additional Information

• No blocked scheduling or special schedule requests will be accepted
• An OT manager is present on shift; there are no COTAs or rehab aides staffed
• Scrubs are permitted but must not match the color of other departments; color options provided upon hire
• Permanent employees must be gone for at least one year before applying for a travel assignment
