American Traveler is seeking a PTA with 2+ years of experience and active state licensure for a home health position utilizing Cerner EMR and requiring BLS certification.

Details

• Work in a home health post-acute care setting covering assigned geographical regions
• Patient population includes individuals with orthopedic injuries, strokes, joint and spinal conditions, and various speech needs
• Work hours are primarily Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm, with every third weekend required
• 8-hour day shifts with flexible scheduling
• Uses Cerner for documentation and charting
• Assigned to home-based care primarily in Marian and Arroyo Grande areas
• Collaborates within an interdisciplinary team including PT, OT, and Speech

Requirements

• Active PTA license in the applicable state or current compact (NLC) licensure—license required if applicable
• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience as a PTA
• Current BLS certification required
• Experience with government mandated documentation such as OASIS
• One year of experience in PT/OT or speech therapy in a home care or similar setting preferred
• Recent references, including one from a supervisor in the past 12 months and one from a peer or supervisor in the past 3 years, are required
• Copy of driver’s license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide therapy to patients recovering from orthopedic, neurological, and spinal injuries in their homes
• Typical caseload includes a variety of diagnoses seen in home health
• Orientation on unit-specific procedures lasts 1.5-2 weeks
• Business attire with a white lab coat is required; jeans are not permitted
• Must be able to work some minor holidays, and major holidays if needed
