Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least 1 year of experience and appropriate licensure for a night shift assignment in a busy respiratory care setting.

Details

• Work in a hospital respiratory care department covering all age groups
• Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, three days per week
• Assignment duration is 13 weeks
• Role includes administering respiratory therapy treatments, conducting invasive and noninvasive diagnostic testing, and responding to cardiac and respiratory arrests
• Patient care is age appropriate and spans all areas supported by the respiratory department
• 50-mile radius rule is in effect; local candidates within 50 miles are not eligible

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved Respiratory Care Program
• Minimum 1 year of experience required, with 2 years in a critical care setting preferred
• Licensed by the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (license required if applicable)
• Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care (RRT credential must be obtained within 12 months if not already held)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS, AHA) required upon hire
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS, AHA) required within 3 months of hire
• Good interpersonal, clinical decision-making, and basic computer skills required
• Ability to work under stress and maintain collaborative relationships with staff

Additional Information

• Provide age-appropriate therapeutic respiratory treatments as prescribed by medical staff
• Maintain and document patient care and equipment records in electronic medical records
• Serve as a resource to the medical team and participate in quick response teams for emergencies
• Expected to ensure proper cleaning and maintenance of all respiratory equipment
• Role may include covering different patient care areas as needed
• Returning employees may only extend one contract for a total of 26 weeks and must complete a 6 month separation before reapplying
