American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist with a strong critical care background and at least 2 years of experience for an adult acute care unit at a Level 1 trauma center.

Details

• Position is in an adult acute care respiratory therapy unit at a Level 1 trauma center
• Patient population includes adults in ICU, ER, and other critical care settings
• Work involves 12-hour weekend day shifts, with possible rotations on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• May work 36 or 48 hours per week depending on shift rotation
• May float to multiple locations within the Fargo area as needed
• Unit beds include 36 Adult ICU, 28 intermediate Adult ICU, and 47 ER beds
• Uses equipment including Epic EMR, Acudose, Hamilton G5 & C1, V60, Airvo, CoughAssist, Vest, IPV AutoPAP, Radiometer ABL90, Aerogen, Trilogy/Astrel, Nitric Oxide, HFOV, Bunnell HFJV, Infant Flow SiPAP, Radiometer TCM

Requirements

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential via NBRC required
• Current BLS certification through AHA required
• ND state license or willingness to apply within 72 hours of offer (license required if applicable)
• Minimum 2 years recent respiratory therapy experience in a hospital setting
• Experience in adult ICU and ER in a Level 1 trauma environment required
• Experience in facilities with 300+ beds required
• Ability to work in fast-paced, high-acuity settings
• ACLS and PALS certifications preferred

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include patient assessment, therapeutic interventions, blood gas analysis, and education for cardiopulmonary disorders
• Regularly perform and adjust respiratory therapy treatments and assess patient equipment
• Orientation includes lab education and preceptor-led training shifts
• Requires ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative healthcare team
• Gray scrubs required
• Candidates living within 80 miles of the facility receive a lower pay rate
• Previous employees must have a break in service of at least 6 months prior to consideration
• All team members must badge in and out at the facility each shift
