Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with at least 1 year of acute care experience for an inpatient acute care hospital assignment.

Details

• Position is based in a short-term acute care hospital with primary focus on inpatient care
• Therapy services are provided across medicine, surgery, orthopedics, neurology, cardiopulmonary, and oncology units
• Monday through Friday day shifts, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with flexible start time up to 8:00 am
• Required to work one weekend (Saturday and Sunday) during a 4-week period with a compensatory day off during that week
• Clinician may float within the full therapy service lines as needed
• No on-call shifts are required
• EMR system is Epic; experience may be required for certain units

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year recent acute care physical therapy experience required
• Current state PT license required if applicable; pending state license considered for Illinois
• BLS certification required
• Strong communication skills and willingness to work with a variety of patient populations
• Experience with Epic EMR preferred or required for some departments

Additional Information

• Primary responsibilities include assessments, patient/family education, documentation, and safety & injury prevention
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Travelers must reside outside a 75-mile radius from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• No more than 7 days of requested time off allowed within a 13-week contract
• No time off allowed in the first week of orientation
• Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as travelers
• Scrub color is black or grey
